More than 25 years as a photojournalist, Ruben Mangasaryan cooperated with leading news agencies such as Agence France Presse, Reuters, ITAR-TASS, and RIA-Novosti. His photos have been published in Time, Boston Globe, Le Figaro, Days Japan, New York Times, Focus, and many other periodicals.
In 1996 Mangasaryan established Patker Photo Agency. In 2003, together with World Press Photo, he opened a course of photojournalism at the Caucasus Media Institute, and in 2007 he launched the publication of National Geographic Traveler magazine’s Armenian edition.
Mangasaryan created a huge photoarchive, where a major place occupies the documentary series, showing the way to independence of the Republic of Armenia.
This postcard set consists of 12 photos from the most important events from 1988 to 1994 – movement of Karabakh, earthquake in Spitak, energic crisis and war.
The publication is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the independence of Armenia.
